Hello my name is Garrett Mason, and I am a senior at Lambert High School. I was born in Ann Arbor Michigan, and grew up in Suwanee Georgia. Over the past three months I have been planning a fundraiser for UNICEF Club. With a lot of brainstorming I decided the event would take place in march and it would be a 3v3 Student vs Staff basketball tournament. So I took my idea and I ran it by the UNICEF Club officers to see if they would be on board with it. At first they were skeptical about the idea. UNICEF is about the safety of children all around the globe, and they weren’t sure that I would be able to incorporate that into a basketball themed fundraiser, but after some thought and consideration the event seemed reasonable to them and they decided someone would speak about UNICEF during the event. Once everyone had given the okay on this event I started making a list of possible sponsors  and working on the finer details of the fundraiser. A few weeks later I came up with the idea that there would be 68 teams in the tournament and each team would represent a march madness team. There will be two brackets and each team will play single elimination in their bracket till the championship where the final team from each bracket faces off to win it all. I still have to get this approved by Dr Davidson and Coach Ferrer but after that I should be on track for a successful fundraiser, which could earn as much as 1020 dollars for the UNICEF Club. I feel that I this will be a way for me to make a lasting impression on Lambert High School and ultimately spread awareness of UNICEF To the entire community.
